“That’s not true,” my pal at work pointed out. She was referring to my piece on Friendship, titled ‘Friends Forever’. In a way, she was right. She debated, saying ‘not all friendships last forever.’ I did give it a second thought. It made a lot of sense. Yet, to me there were few that did!
I had my reasons, or rather experience! I believe that – as we get older, we don’t lose friends. We just find out who the real ones are.
Veronica and I were having a hearty laugh over the lakeside bridge. She suddenly turned out into silence. It was out of my anticipation. I was stunned for a second. But being her bestie, I knew she had just survived a heartbreak. Not ideally, but to put it in simple words – she was out of a breakup.
‘James and Veronica dated for two years. They were high school friends and were madly in love. It began with friendship between the two. They had their share of ups and downs. Yet, they always knew how to make up.
James was a good guy, but for some reason he and I couldn’t get along. This ruined the friendship between Veronica and me. Not to interfere between the lovely couple, I decided to take my foot back, and I changed my route from the two. This was not the end of the world to me. I continued to live a normal life and made many new friends. In the meanwhile, I received the news that James and Veronica were no more together.’
As a user of LYK, I was fascinated by the fact that it being a unique social platform – allowed you to build your #invisible network by connecting with your close ones in #private. Veronica and I were re-connected on LYK and that’s where she discussed her breakup to me. After which we decided to meet over the bridge.
Today, where we are short of time, it’s difficult to always meet and talk. So, Veronica and I have found our solution. We now share our #private gossips on LYK without any hesitation. Our friendship has no bounds. That’s life – in short – on a lifeline.
